Enhancing Career Readiness & Transition Competencies

The long-term economic crisis and even more so the current COVID-19 pandemic has led to a sharp rise in international unemployment, especially among young people (OECD, 2020), who face increased job uncertainty and become particularly vulnerable in finding and retaining work (Mann , Denis and Percy, 2020).

In addition, the rapidly evolving changes due to the digital and the "green" transition, seem to create even greater challenges for decision making and career planning. Also 1 in 5 young people have incompatible educational and professional expectations (OECD, 2020 PISA 2018 study). This issue is associated with limited access to professional guidance and information services, which leads to stereotypical choices, far removed from real labor market conditions and trends, and a low understanding of available training and career opportunities and career paths.

The Seminar is going to deal with the Career Rediness of the Youth and experts from OECD, CareerNET and Cedefop will try to present the latest findings, policies and tools to compat the issue.

The Seminar will be held in a Hybrid format, is free of charge, open to all Euroguidance Staff and other interested Guidance Cousellors from around Europe. You can show your interest either in physical participation or by participating on-line by sending us your Name, Organisation, way of participating, and email, to
