Already the eighth Nordic-Baltic Migration Conference in Tallinn focuses on the challenges of migration policy and cross-border mobility in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The challenges of migration and integration will continue to be one of the main topics of public debate in the Baltic and Nordic region, as well as globally. The Nordic region is one of the most integrated regions in the world and the experience of the Nordic countries confirms that free movement of people is one of the essential prerequisites for development. It has given people better opportunities to study, live and work in their neighbouring Nordic countries. The free movement of people will also be one of the main aims of Nordic cooperation in the coming years to ensure the possibility to move freely within the Nordic region, to work, live and do business in the Nordic countries, or to study.
